Who we are
Muse and Method Counseling was established by Lisa Falvey, LMHC.
“My path to becoming a therapist is perhaps a bit more windy than most.
Before becoming a counselor, I earned an MFA and PhD in Communication. While those studies continue to shape how I listen and connect, they are not the center of my work with clients. My focus is on sitting with clients as they share their experiences and supporting them in finding new ways forward. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity and compassion. I believe healing happens in a safe, steady relationship where your story can be heard and your strengths recognized, even in the midst of struggle.
As a visual artist, I also bring creativity into the process. This perspective often helps me connect with people who feel “outside the box” or who may not resonate with more traditional perspectives. I value the many ways people express themselves and see therapy as a space where new perspectives can emerge.
With that said, I focus on tools that have a proven impact: Acceptance and Commitment Training, Exposure Response Prevention, Prolonged Exposure for trauma, among others.
Above all, my role is to walk alongside you as you face challenges, rediscover your strengths, and create a path toward the life you want to live.
Also, I love animals and have a big Bernese Mountain Dog!”
